Regripping

MAINTENANCE: Take a good look at your clubs. Let's start with the grips. They are the most important part of the club since it is the only connection you have with you club. Your grips must be in good shape for you to maintain control. Grips should be washed every couple of weeks with soap and water to remove the dirt and oils that collect. This will also help restore the tacky feel to your grips. If your grips are hard, worn in places or have depressions from where you hold the club, you should replace them. The safest rule of thumb is to replace your grips once a year. But if you play more than once a week, you may need to replace them twice a year.

Grips are the only part of the golf club designed to wear out. Grips are probably the most overlooked part of your golf equipment. A grip should be sized so that the golfer can hold the club lightly and comfortably. Also the size of the grip can affect how much the club head can be turned over at impact. At CHIMO GOLF we ensure you are properly fitted to the correct size and style of grip for your game. We have a wide selection of grips for you to choose from and will professionally install your grips to meet your specifications.

Reshafting

MAINTENANCE: Next, the shafts need your attention. Check for rust spots and if WD-40 doesn't help, then it is time for replacement. You should also look for dents or dings, which make the shaft weaker. This type of club damage may lead to a breakage during a swing. Your bag may also be causing damage to your clubs if the rim is too hard. You should use a bag with a soft lining and head covers with long "necks" to protect clubs from rubbing against the bag surface. Another tip with shafts is to check if any are loose or squeaky. Over time the epoxy may break and loosen around the shaft and club head. Extreme changes in temperature can also cause the epoxy to break down.

The golf shaft is the ENGINE that drives a shot. CHIMO GOLF will replace shafts due to retrofitting or breakage. Although not the only choices, steel and graphite are the two most common shaft types. Typically steel shafts are heavier and tend to have the best consistency and control of shaft types. Graphite shafts are lighter than steel shafts and are easier to swing for some players specifically ladies and senior golfers. CHIMO GOLF will locate the spine and choose the correct flex required to ensure consistency in your entire set. This is important in order for the ENGINE to run at peak efficiency. The wrong shaft can affect accuracy, distance, control and shot dispersion.

MAINTENANCE: Continuing down the club, our next stop is the club head. You should avoid letting dirt harden in the grooves of your clubface. The groves must be clean to pass on spin to the ball. The more dirt, the less accurate your shots. The best way to clean them is with a solution of warm water and mild soap. You should use wire brush and then towel dry.

CHIMO GOLF offers a wide variety of club adjustments. We can change the loft, lie, length or adjust the swing weight of your clubs. We can find the spine of clubs. We will also analyze your clubs using the Flexmaster so that you know their exact specifications.
